Damn that month felt like a quickie!
The last 5 weeks have been spent in vacation, I totally rested on my back at that time, found sensation in lazyness and barely made any physical activities which I think is a huge disappointment to my daily workout resolution for my vacation.
Speaking about resolutions…
My intentions to August were that I was about to work heavily on poses, proper sketching, anatomy and maybe even painting… buuut that was somewhat repressed by a… certain… comic…
The two characters I had planned to release this month are still not very well progressed in designing (they don’t even have a proper name for cryin’ out loud) even though this all sounds like a huge letdown to myself, it actually was quite the opposite of an unproductive time! I actually submitted 19 deviations! 16 of which are all related to the comic! Which is by far a new record, that I’m not eager to break…
But before we get to it, first I’d like to show you what else I did…
Right after my first week of vacation at my dad’s I came back with near to no intents of what to do, when suddenly

showed up and asked me if I’d be willing to draw his most favourite; Constance in my style again.

It didn’t come out as I expected, but I was occasionally turning her into her anthro form! Which makes me the first one that ever did that!
I don’t think there’s much to say to the drawing process other than it was enjoyable.
Now to the big package…
Done with myself, and

Survival of the Idiots happens to be my first full paged comic. It is absolutely improvised, poorly executed and badly drawn. I nearly switched my artstyle three times in the process and consumed a ton of movies to accompany me in this intense working period. Like, I wake up, write my book and go straight to working on the next page, finishing at least one, or one and a half or even two each day with a burning tablet and aching wrists in the evening.
I can’t say it was a waste of time and resources, I’ve learned a lot about making comics, that you don’t essentially need a plot, a proper storyline or continuity, you need a fitting art style, creativity and… more practise with your characters…
Something to show my general intrest in fan fictions and my affiliation to

was needed on this profile anyway!
During that workflow I needed something to compensate and bring more diversity into my daily routine. So I packed out a game that I haven’t played in a while: Max Payne 3 and once more realized how much I love this character and the story he’s telling… I was so struck with it that I felt I had to show my love to it by creating a homage and featuring my character Tijan to preserve originality…

This is about one of my favourite character models yet, so good, that I decided to isolate it and upload it in a different colour section.
Doing it was – again – a lot of work. This time I used more references than usual, mostly taken by game posters and own screenshots, I installed a new brush set to get some textures in it that probably no one has noticed?! That background took most of the time actually, considering this and the fact that it made my character soo dark and had given away all his details is the reason why I will take a break with backgrounds for now… they don’t raise attraction anyway.
Now for my stay at the North of Germany…
I’ve had a great time with my mother and grandmother. We’ve had a beautiful flat in an overall nice city with sadly too much tourism and – for my taste – was suffering from urbanisation. The charme of a tranquil place at the coast with its own manufactures, monuments and restaurants was gone, although I can’t really complain about that. At least there was much to do, we went to thermal baths, the beach the soft-salted water and still came to have some good food (and beer).
Now I am back… Last week made me think about a lot of stuff and encouraged me to work harder on all this.
I want to work on a new character soon (not one of the two from last month’s reflection). I still think about how I can work with him because he won’t fit in neither of Tijan’s, Aktarian’s or

‘s worlds… He’ll be a traditional anthro set in the present. Let’s see how this will turn out…
Until the next month, folks!
Hushabye, out!
