Terms of Service

(Updated 02 Feb 2023)

Upon applying and paying for a commission, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions listed on this page:

·      You are at legal age to conduct a transaction.

·      You are ready and able to pay the full price of the commission when asked to do so.

·      You have ownership over the material you want me to work on or have acquired permission and acceptance of the people who own them.

The commission process:

Prices·

  • The prices listed on my Commission info Page are variable and depend on the complexity of the subject.
-> What counts as complexity in a commission?
  • Complexity is the subjective impression the Artist has of the project.
  • It can range from additional limbs like wings, arms or legs, detailed patterns, difficult character interactions or simply props like weapons and clothing.
  • I have listed the most commonly picked commission types and prices on my commission page.
  • When you know what you want me to work on, inform me about it, using the information listed in my contact page.
  • Then we will discuss the commission and its cost – this process can last a few days until you know exactly what you want and what you will get.

-> Disclaimer: Due to record keeping and consolidation, all agreements regarding the commission have to be done via email.

  • The payment is done through Paypal for internationals. Members within the EU have the additional option to pay through invoice but don’t have to.
  • Only after the full payment has come in, I will officially start the commission.

What if I refuse you?

  • The list of what ‘I will’ / ‘won’t draw’ should give you a good impression of what I accept to work on and can be found on my commission page as well.
  • Sometimes, though there are other reasons to rejections, like it being too ambitious to fit in my timeframe or there being something else I have not accounted for in my ‘won’t draw’ section.
  • As long as you are friendly and respective, you can expect the same from me and the process will go much smoother.

Revisions

  • Changes to the concept are only possible during the sketch phase, but that’s what it’s for.
  • This process lasts until we have found the right pose / composition / angle / etc.
  • In later stages, only small alterations, like colour / brightness and small additions are acceptable.
    -> Paintings are excluded.

How long does it take?

  • During discussion, I should be able to give you a prediction of the approximate time the commission needs.
  • However, the time frame can vary.
  • You are free to ask the current status of the commission and receive Work-in-Progress images in low quality or cropped format.

Refunds and Cancellations

  • I reserve the right to cancel a commission at any moment during production.
-> This shouldn’t happen often but when it does, I want to be prepared.
-> In this case, you will receive a full refund.
  • If you wish to cancel the commission process, a refund is only possible before the rendering stage has begun.
  • Refunds before each completed stage will be issued with the price of the preceding stage + an additional 10% convenience fee
-> Example: cancelled during colouring = Refund minus 10% and price for Lineart (in this case, you shall keep the Lineart)
-> Excluded are painting- and sketch-commissions.

The finished product

-> You will receive two versions of your commission:

1. Signed with reduced quality / resolution for public use.

2. Unsigned in highest quality I can provide only for private use.

  • You may print it for yourself and your close acquaintances.
  • If you want to share it online, do so with the Signed version and under giving credit to one of my social media pages as long as it is not being altered in any way other than resizing or cropping (e.g. for a profile picture or profile banner).
  • Also, you may not use it for commercial purposes, such as promotional works, minting NFTs, selling adopts or prints, etc.
  • I retain all rights to the commissioned artwork, including but not limited to posting and distributing, altering and all commercial use.
-> if the commission work is a time-sensitive gift (e.g. for a Birthday), I may delay public showcase at your request.
-> You may purchase the rights to the commissioned artwork; in this case, be mindful that commercial licenses are usually double the price of the initial cost for the commission, also make sure contact is done via email.

NOTE: The terms listed are meant as a reference for small-projects. Contracts will be negotiated with larger clients and longer-term projects.
