Reflection #77 – August 24

An entire month without any new posts?

Yeah well…

I wanted to take it slow after closing up July because it was overly busying and to an extend so it is now. Just with the difference that my work now isn’t as – let’s say – postable.

I’ve been working in the Graphics-Department of the upcoming Tropical Islands Convention and designed the motives for Sponsor Shirt, Sticker, Staff Button, Backgrounds for Lanyards which I won’t show here… also there’s my own badge for me of course <v<

The process was a very fun one and I am honored to have my skills contributed to a setting I very much am looking forward to. I do hope it is everything I wish for and at least the results of the prints I have seen so far do confirm that. Working for TFi has got to be a thing I’d love to continue doing in the future if the con goes well for me.

The whole tropical theme pretty much drowned due to the constant barrage of projects piling on, so due to TFI, I actually was able to still dwell in that fantastical setting of mine at least in a distant variation. And that’s nothing compared to actually living in it for a few days next week! So while not the real thing, it will be really unique to be sure!

So earlier this month, I did a few more preparations for dealing at my booth at Eurofurence. Rearranging pieces, printing and cutting them, even now I am working on the last poster I’ll be ordering for EF and that is showing up in the banner with this Journal. A few days ago, I set up my booth for testing purposes and there is still a few things to be done, I’ll have to visit a few second hand stores, browse for bureau equipment and set up my commission sheet. And some decorations should be gathered.

And while the last week at my study place went smooth, I could get some downtime, went to a trip to see waterfalls, it was cut short as I prepared to move out, a process needlessly complicated from my part and decisions I did in a hurry that wasn’t benefitting me in the slightest, which I am still salty about but I guess these mistakes can happen. At least I’m happy everything went rather smooth from there on out.

Not very long after my move, I also got ready for a nice little trip to northern Germany. And while the trip there nearly failed on two occasions and was very stressful on me, the stay and vacation itself was very nice. He were lucky with the weather and even though I got sick on the second day, it couldn’t ruin the experience. We went to harbour cities, visited marine museums, ate a lot of local fish and watched seaguls attempt to steal chips from tourists ^v^

Next time, though I’d like to have less travel time on me, but that’s always an issue with going somewhere, isn’t it? 😛

And then, for the final days of the month, I was working on some errands to take care of before TFI starts. Packing my stuff, of course, but also finishing and ordering my posters, go to the city for some shopping and do some traditional exercises to prepare for the cons ahead.

One more thing I want to get done is to upload an info about my products on my website, let’s see if I can do that tomorrow…

Alright, wanna finish my final poster today!

I wish you a nice September and hope the temperatures will enable you to relax and do the things you want to do outside.

Wish you a nice time and hope to have lots of nice things to say at the end of next month!
